Drew – Your second purpose is interesting to me. I subscribe to multiple ‘digests’ on a variety of subjects, each contains informational items on social justice, equality and sustainability (for example) yet none of these subjects are the sole focus of any one ‘digest.’
It would be well worth investigating how we might put together some form of ‘list-serve’ or informational digest which has ‘our’ issues as a focus.
Yes, both Rethinking Schools and the Rouge Forum have list-servs that provided excellent up-to-date info on educational policy, initiatives, etc. Perhaps, we could create a space to pull in particularly relevant articles to the blog. Two other sites/list-servs that may prove helpful to this endeavor: ecojustice education at www.ecojusticeeducation.org and the student farmworker alliance who does a lot of work with the coalition of immokalee workers at www.ciw-online.org.
These are terrific ideas! A web site would be cool - however finding a reliable host can be a challenge - give the amount of advertising that exists in cyberspace - We could create another blog here and link between the two... (Google owns Blogger if that is cool with everyone – their dealings in China are a bit despotic) I am very interested in this and would be glad to support Drew in creating / maintaining.
- given the amount...
:o)
