PrESS Network Retreat

Good ideas so far--lots of possibilities in terms of how we can spend the time. If Gina and I can make it, it would more than likely be just for the weekend part of it.

We just arrived back from the Pedagogy and Theater of the Oppressed Conference. It was a wonderful mix of actors, professors, teachers, and organizers--all talking the same theoretical language and all doing the work. It was extremely energizing. If we do any writing work at this retreat--we should target it for next year's conference. (www.ptoweb.org)

Sounds like a wonderful time. I am tentative for these dates however, as Jennifer is working some weekends.

If the Lee crew can we attend only for the weekend and have kiddos in tow.

Drew's ideas are great, and echoed by many of us. If we were to plan an environmental-social issues conference we could focus on Dr. Goral's ideas of a sustainable lab school.

The PTO web site is intriguing.... do the two ideas compliment each other?

I'm in if you can handle a teacher with my experience. See you soon. Love, Bob

I plan to stay all nights. What do we want to accomplish? Catch up, revisit our mission statement, decide on service project, fellowship, plan for future meetings, and determine action plan for near and long term; then go fishing. -Bob P.S. I'm writing a book (I think). The working title is "Real People, Real Places." Go ahead and try to steal my title --if you dare-- it's copyrighted.

I am afraid these dates will not work for the Lee family. We have friends coming from out of state as well as the beginning of Jalen summer camp - Wa Konda Ho - that weekend.

Please let me know the picnic date and times as I would hope to be able to attend at least that.

Hey folks. Gina and I are in for Saturday night for a room in the lodge if there is still room. We'll come up early on Saturday and leave later on Sunday. What's the story on dogs? We'll board Mango if we need to or bring her if its ok.

One thing to discuss will be a recent letter I received from Jonathan Kozol regarding an umbrella organization he is trying to create, Education for Social Change, that would incoporate and use several networks, such as ours, across the country.

So sorry that we will not be at the picnic...guests are arriving late Saturday.

Please know I am with you in spirit.
